The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), led by Hans Leo J. Cacdac, has launched the “Bagong Pilipinas: Bayanihan para sa Balikbayang Manggagawa” National Reintegration Network (NRN) and Job Fair to provide support for repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

The initiative serves as a one-stop platform offering various services to returning OFWs and their families, particularly those affected by the ongoing Middle East crisis. Around 800 returning workers are expected to benefit from the program, which focuses on helping them transition back into the local workforce and community.

The event was held in Quezon City, where Mayor Joy Belmonte delivered the welcome message. In his opening remarks, Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac highlighted the government’s ongoing commitment to support Filipino workers returning from crisis-affected regions, emphasizing the need for coordinated assistance and long-term reintegration programs.

Several government agencies also expressed their support for the initiative, including the Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Each agency highlighted the importance of collaboration in addressing the needs of OFWs, from employment and healthcare to digital skills and social services.

Under the Kaalaman, Kabuhayan, at Kalinga (KKK) Reintegration Framework, the NRN provides access to job opportunities, skills training, livelihood support, and basic assistance for overall well-being. The program aims to help returning workers rebuild their lives by equipping them with the necessary tools and resources for sustainable employment and personal development.

The NRN brings together more than 25 government agencies, along with local government units, private recruitment agencies, and employers. This coordinated approach ensures that repatriated OFWs receive comprehensive and accessible support in one location, reducing the challenges often faced during reintegration.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader response to the situation in the Middle East. In coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), affected OFWs and their families have been assisted in returning safely to the Philippines, with continued support provided upon their arrival.
