Three people lost their lives after two harbor craft collided near Singapore’s Pasir Panjang Terminal on June 12, prompting a large search and rescue operation by local authorities. The incident involved a supply boat and a landing craft operating in one of the world’s busiest ports. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), the collision occurred at around 9:30 a.m. local time. Following the impact, the supply boat sank while the landing craft remained afloat and stable. No injuries were reported among the crew members aboard the landing craft.

Emergency response teams, including the Police Coast Guard and the Singapore Civil Defence Force Marine Division, were immediately deployed to the area. Search and rescue operations, including diving activities, were launched to locate missing crew members from the sunken vessel.

Authorities later recovered three bodies from the waters near the accident site. The identities and nationalities of the victims have not yet been released pending notification of their families. Officials also continued to assess whether additional persons had been aboard the supply boat at the time of the collision.

The incident occurred near Pasir Panjang Terminal, a major container handling facility in Singapore. Despite the accident, port operations continued without disruption. Navigational advisories were issued to vessels in the area to keep clear of the scene while emergency and recovery work proceeded.

Singapore authorities have begun an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the collision. Maritime safety experts are expected to examine vessel movements, communications, and operational procedures as part of the inquiry. The findings may help improve safety measures for harbor craft operating in congested port waters.
