A major explosion at a gas processing facility in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar, left 13 workers dead and 66 others injured during restart operations at the plant, according to Qatari authorities. The incident occurred at the Barzan gas facility, part of the country's large natural gas processing complex.
Officials said the explosion was caused by a technical accident and was not linked to sabotage or any hostile action. Emergency response teams quickly responded to the scene and brought the resulting fire under control. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the incident.

Authorities reported that 13 workers lost their lives, while 66 others sustained injuries and received medical treatment. Reports indicated that most of the fatalities were foreign workers from South Asia.

The explosion occurred as workers were restarting operations at the facility after a prolonged shutdown. Despite the accident, Qatar's Energy Ministry stated that the country's liquefied natural gas (LNG) export operations and other key facilities at Ras Laffan were not affected. Officials also said there would be no significant impact on Qatar’s gas exports or domestic energy supply.
