A Saudi oil tanker was reportedly targeted in the northern Red Sea as tensions in the region continue to affect international shipping. Yemen's Houthi group claimed it launched ballistic missiles at the tanker Wafa, saying the attack was part of its ongoing campaign against Saudi oil tankers. The claim has not been independently confirmed, and Saudi authorities have not released an official statement.

The Houthis said Wafa was the eighth Saudi oil tanker they have targeted since late July. The group also claimed that dozens of Saudi tankers had turned back from the Red Sea and Arabian Sea due to the campaign. However, these figures could not be independently verified.

In a separate incident, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that a tanker sailing about 95 nautical miles southeast of Aden heard a loud explosion near the vessel. All crew members were reported safe, and no damage or pollution was immediately found. Authorities are investigating the incident.

UKMTO also confirmed new details about the sinking of the Indian cargo vessel Faize Noore Oliya earlier this week. The vessel was reportedly attacked by an uncrewed surface vessel near Yemen before catching fire and sinking. All 14 crew members were rescued safely by local authorities. India condemned the attack and called for an immediate end to threats against commercial shipping, as concerns over maritime security in the Middle East continue to grow.
