MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Ionic Group Managing Director Mr. Spyros N. Vlassopoulos visited Ionic (Manila) Manning, Inc. and conducted the company’s first Meet and Greet Session with its Senior and Junior Officers, providing an opportunity for direct engagement between the Group’s leadership and its seafarers.

The session allowed Mr. Vlassopoulos to share updates on the Group’s developments, discuss future plans, and strengthen communication between management and the officers who support Ionic’s operations at sea.

Among the updates presented was Ionic Group’s planned fleet expansion, which includes five new vessels consisting of four tankers and one bulk carrier. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2028 and 2029 as part of the Group’s continued fleet development.

During the gathering, Mr. Vlassopoulos highlighted quality as a key principle across the Ionic Group. He emphasized that the company’s relationship with its charterers depends on the consistent delivery of high-quality services supported by the professionalism, competence, and performance of both seafarers and shore-based teams.

He also stressed that maintaining these standards is a shared responsibility between the crews onboard Ionic vessels and the company offices in Manila and Glyfada, Greece. Mr. Vlassopoulos noted that the Meet and Greet Session reinforced the connection between seafarers and shore teams, built on teamwork, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to the company’s goals.

The event also served as a platform for open discussion, allowing officers to hear directly from the Group’s leadership and better understand Ionic’s direction and upcoming initiatives. As the company continues its fleet development, the session highlighted the importance of cooperation between sea and shore personnel in maintaining service quality and operational standards.
