The USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group departed Thailand on September 6 following a scheduled port visit, according to the U.S. Navy. The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier and accompanying strike group units had arrived in Thailand on September 2.

The visit covered the Si Racha and Pattaya area, where nearly 5,000 U.S. sailors and Marines were given an opportunity to rest, take part in organized activities, and visit local attractions. The Navy said the stop also allowed personnel to engage with local communities.

Capt. Dan Keeler, commanding officer of the USS Abraham Lincoln, thanked Thailand for hosting the crew and described the port call as an opportunity for personnel to recharge. The carrier strike group had previously conducted operations in the U.S. Central Command area before returning to the Indo-Pacific region.

Following its departure from Thailand, the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group is continuing routine operations within the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. The U.S. Navy said its forces in the region conduct regular patrols and work with regional allies and partners.
