Security Threats Heighten Across Persian Gulf as Seafarers Urged to Stay Alert
Sep 09, 2026

Security risks across the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman remain high amid intensified military activity and continuing threats against commercial shipping.

Recent incidents involving merchant vessels, missile attacks and other military operations have raised concerns for ships operating near Iran, Oman and UAE waters. Maritime authorities have advised vessels to exercise caution and maintain heightened security awareness.

Shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz also remains below recent averages as regional tensions continue.

Seafarers operating throughout the region are urged to remain informed, follow company security procedures and closely monitor official maritime advisories.
