India has lodged a formal protest with Pakistan following a collision between an Indian Navy vessel and a Pakistani naval ship in the North Arabian Sea, with Indian authorities alleging that unsafe maneuvering by the Pakistani vessel led to the incident. The collision occurred on September 15 in international waters, according to India’s Ministry of External Affairs.

Indian officials said the Pakistani naval ship approached the Indian warship at high speed and conducted what they described as unsafe and unprofessional maneuvers, resulting in a minor collision. India stated that no major damage was reported and that the Indian vessel continued its assigned mission after the incident.

The Indian government said the incident was a violation of Article 10 of the 1991 Agreement between India and Pakistan on Advance Notice of Military Exercises, Manoeuvres and Troop Movements. The agreement includes provisions intended to reduce risks and prevent accidents between military units operating at sea.

Pakistan has also issued its own protest regarding the incident, disputing India’s account and alleging that the Indian naval vessel was responsible for unsafe actions. Both sides have raised the matter through diplomatic channels as authorities continue to address the circumstances surrounding the collision.
