A large bulk carrier was successfully refloated on September 24 after remaining aground for about one week off Gladstone, Queensland, Australia. Maritime Safety Queensland confirmed that the vessel came free during the morning high tide after previous attempts to release it had been unsuccessful.

The bulk carrier grounded on September 18 while operating near the Port of Gladstone area. Recovery efforts were carried out with assistance from maritime authorities and salvage teams, with plans initially set for a later tide window before the vessel refloated earlier than expected.

Following the successful refloating, authorities moved the vessel to a designated anchorage area for inspection and further assessment. Maritime officials said checks would be conducted to confirm the vessel’s condition and ensure that safety and regulatory requirements are met before any further operations.

Authorities also thanked the involved parties for their cooperation during the recovery operation and said monitoring and assessment activities would continue. Port operations and vessel movements in the area were reported to be returning to normal after the incident.
