A Greek-flagged roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) cargo vessel was abandoned by its crew after a fire broke out while the vessel was sailing north of Mykonos, Greece, on September 25. The incident prompted a maritime response involving firefighting vessels and tug assistance, according to reports from maritime authorities and statements from the vessel operator.

The vessel was carrying vehicles, including 166 trucks and 29 cars, when the fire was reported at around 8:57 a.m. Initial information indicated that the fire may have started on the vehicle deck, possibly within one of the cargo garages. Firefighting efforts were carried out as responders worked to control the situation.

The crew members and one truck driver who were onboard were evacuated after firefighting attempts were made but the fire continued to spread. The Hellenic Coast Guard reported that no injuries were recorded, and those evacuated were later brought to a nearby island for assistance.

Authorities and response teams continued operations at the scene, with firefighting units and salvage resources assisting the affected vessel.
