The Beaconer’s Job Fair at BEACON 2026 welcomed 7,453 seafarers and visitors on September 29 and 30, using Seaker System Technologies Inc.’s digital platform for registration and job applications. The two-day gathering brought together maritime job seekers, manning agencies, ship managers, schools, training centers and government representatives.
As the event’s specialized technology partner, Seaker provided in-app tickets, QR gate passes and electronic submission of curriculum vitae (CVs). Six registration stations scanned participants’ passes at the entrance. At participating agency booths, seafarers scanned QR codes to submit their profiles as formatted CVs directly to recruitment systems, with processing taking about three seconds, according to the company’s event account.
Attendance data from SEAker LIVE PULSE Analytics recorded 6,543 entries through QR gate passes and approximately 910 on-site registrations. An initial allocation of 5,000 passes was followed by two additional batches of 1,000 to accommodate demand. The figures represent seafarers and visitors attending the fair.
The digitally recorded attendees included 1,365 able-bodied seamen, 1,267 participants who had never been onboard, 939 deck cadets and 405 engine cadets. Participants in the latter three categories totaled 2,611, accounting for about 40 percent of digital entrants. The attendance records covered both experienced seafarers and those preparing for their first shipboard assignment.
Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac attended the event and commended the speed of applicant processing, according to Seaker’s event account. The digital system allowed participants to submit applications to multiple participating agencies using one profile. Seaker’s technology partnership with BEACON is set to continue into 2027, according to the company.
