The Taiwan Coast Guard used a water cannon to drive away a Chinese fishing vessel that allegedly entered restricted waters near Dongsha Island in the South China Sea on October 1.
Authorities said the vessel, identified as Jin Sha, ignored repeated radio warnings to leave the area. The patrol vessel Yunlin first fired its water cannon for about 30 seconds as a warning, followed by a 90-second spray directed at the fishing boat.
The vessel later experienced mechanical problems and was towed out of the restricted waters by the Taiwan Coast Guard before being handed over to another Chinese vessel.
